Blessing in language from the word al-buruk [البروك] which means to stay. Well, the Arabic language is birkah [بِركَة], because there is water settled in it. Then this word is used to refer to something that has a lot of goodness. Allah calls the Qur'an a blessed book,
[This is] a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be reminded.
Because in the Qur'an there is a lot of goodness from Allah.
(al-Mufradat fi Gharib al-Quran, al-Ashfahani, p. 44).
Become a Blessed Man
Being a blessed man means humans who have a lot of goodness. Goodness in form, many benefits for others. And that is the true human achievement. Being a servant of Allah that provides many benefits for others.
In the Qur'an, Allah calls Prophet Isa a blessed human being. Allah said to tell the words of Prophet Isa while still a baby,
"And He has made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined upon me prayer and zakah as long as I remain alive"
He was called a blessed person, because he brought revelation which is good for all servants.
Being a blessed man is also the dream of our parents. Almost on every baby, parents always depend on hope, "May be a useful child, for parents, community, nation, and religion."
They hope that we become human beings who benefit. Benefits not only for parents, but for the environment.
There is a writer who prays for his readers to become human beings who are blessed everywhere. He is Shaykh Muhammad bin Sulaiman at-Tamimi. In his book, qawaidul arba 'he said,
I plead with the glorious Allah, the Rab owner of the glorious Arsy, so that He will guide you in the world and the hereafter. And so He makes you a blessed person wherever you are.

Potential & Blessing
We are not asked to give all forms of kindness to others. Because it is impossible for us to do, considering we don't have all the potential that can be useful for others. Because of this, Islam directs us to benefit others, according to the potential we have.
And part of Allah's justice, He shares charity for His servants, according to their potential.
The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said,
Do charity, because every soul is facilitated according to the purpose of its creation.
(Narrated by Bukhari 4949 & Muslim 6903)
All humans are directed to charity according to the end of their lives. The person who gets happiness at the end of his life will be facilitated to do charity that leads him to happiness. And vice versa.
Imam Malik once received a letter from his friend Abdullah al-Umari, a person who is very diligent in worshiping. In the letter, he invited Imam Malik not to over-sit teaching the hadith in Medina, but should be alone in the context of many prayers.
Then Imam Malik gave an answer with a fairly pressing statement,
Verily Allah - Ta'ala - has divided charity for His servants, just as Allah divided the rizk. There are many people who are facilitated to do the deeds of prayer, but he is not facilitated for fasting. Some are facilitated in giving shadaqah (charity), but are not facilitated for fasting charity. There is who facilitated for jihad, but it is not facilitated to pray. And spread knowledge and teach it, including the most afdhal deeds.
Then he continued,
And I have been pleased with the charity that Allah has given to me. And I do not consider that the charity that I am currently working on is lower in level than the charity you are living (jihad). And I hope, each of us is in goodness. And it is obligatory for us to be pleased with the distribution of charity that has been set by Allah. was salam ...
(at-Tamhid, Syarh Muwatha ', 7/185)
We are not asked that everything be dai. Or become a generous rich person. Or being an official who can provide many conveniences for the environment. However, each was asked to carry out his duties and obligations as a servant of Allah and tried to provide benefits according to his potential.
Those who hold positions can benefit Muslims with their positions ...
Those who are given excess property can provide benefits with the excess of their wealth ...
As those who are given an understanding of knowledge, can provide benefits with their knowledge ...

Only for Personal
Unfortunately, many people who sacrifice only to develop potential whose benefits do not apply to others.
Sacrificing to care for beauty, sacrifice to be more handsome and charming. Struggling to become a sixpack of Allah's servants. Whereas all of the benefits are only for his person, do not apply to others. At most, the benefits are only the spouse, her husband or his wife. That too can be meaningless, if not accompanied by good character.
Anyone will not be happy if they have to go side by side with a wife who likes to fight and cannot keep her mouth. Even though she's the most pretty. As any woman will not be able to calm down her life if her husband is arrogant, rude, or playful. Even though he's the most handsome.
There are also those who fight for hobbies. He can spend hundreds and millions just for hobbies ... even though the benefits are only for his satisfaction.
Decorate with Religion Knowledge
It turned out that the spirit of giving benefits came out, when humans understood religion. Islam respects all the advantages of humanity, but the advantages are only valuable, when the owner understands Shari'a and the knowledge of religion. Because only with an understanding of religious rules, humans can control all the advantages properly, so that the benefits are broader. This standard is taught by the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam . In the hadith of Abu Hurairah radhiyallahu ' anhu, the Messenger of Allaah' alaihi wa sallam said,
Humans are (like) mining goods. The best man in the era of jahiliyah he was also the best after entering Islam, if he understood religion.
(Narrated by Bukhari 3383 and Muslim 2526)
Mining of various grades. There is gold, there is silver, nickel, iron, even gravel and sand. Each has a much different value according to its strengths. The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam gave the example of a human being as a mine. Each has a different value according to the level of excess. But all that has a meaning, when he understands religion.

Why Not Learn Religion?
I do not know, which phrase is more appropriate, learning Religion while working or is it working while learning religion? For those of us who are not interested in language problems, going back and forth like this is not an important issue. Whatever it is, we hope to be as mentioned in the Hadith of Abu Hurairah above.
Those of you who are currently working, have a more advanced stage of excellence than those who are unemployed. You have income, have the chance to succeed. Although the levels are different. You certainly hope all the advantages you have are more meaningful.
Since getting up early to sleep again, from Monday to Sunday, you will have a million activities. But you must not allow yourself to dissolve with the rush to search the world. With a lot of busyness, it requires you to be smart in determining priorities.
First advice, be careful in choosing a community. Most people are damaged because they chose the community wrong. Conversely, many people become pious, also because of the community.
Next, take advantage of your part of age to study religion, to understand Islam, learn the Qur'an, hadith, as well as understand its meaning correctly. If you can manage your time correctly, Islamic studies will not interfere with your activities and busyness.
At that time, you can hope to be a human being that is beneficial to your family and society. Remember the message in a hadith,
"Humans who are most loved by Allah, are the most beneficial for other humans."
(At-Thabrani in as-Shaghir, 862 - majma 'zawaid 13708)
