Second Life
Bismillah was shalatu was salamu 'ala Rasulillah, wa ba'du,
God gives the age of these people that is not long. On average only about 60s-70s. The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said,
"The ages of my people are between 60 and 70 years old, and few people can go beyond that age"
(Narrated by Ibn Majah, 4236, al-Albani)

if you find something (i.g. sentences) is wrong, please contact us, or give us comment in the comment section bellow.
But there are 2 things we need to distinguish,
[1] Life of human physical life.
[2] Age of human work.
There are among humans whose work is buried, along with buried bodies. So once he died, there is no longer a former charity that still survives on the surface of the earth.
Conversely, there are humans whose is his work age, much longer than his physical age. Even though he has died hundreds of years in the past, his work remains fresh and clear on the surface.
God explains in the Qur'an that He not only records the deeds we do, but Allah also records all the effects and effects of the deeds we have done.
Allah says,
"Indeed, it is We who bring the dead to life and record what they have put forth and what they left behind, and all things We have enumerated in a clear register."
Al-Hafidz Ibn Kathir mentions two interpretations of the clergy about the meaning of sentences,
' what they left behind'
First, Their footprints as they move toward obedience or immorality
This is the opinion of Mujahid and Qatadah as narrated by Ibn Abi Najih.
Among the arguments that reinforce this opinion is the hadith of Jabir ibn Abdillah radhiyallahu 'anhuma , that there are Bani Salimah want to move to make the village close to the nabawi mosque. Because they are too far away if they have to leave prayers every day to the nabawi mosque. When this information reached the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam he said,
Oh Bani Salimah, the journey from your house to the mosque will be recorded traces of your times.
(HR 1551 Muslim, and Ahmad 14940)
Second, The influence of the charity we are working on
That is, God notes the form of charity that they do and the influence of that charity. If good, then recorded as good. And if bad is recorded as bad.
This is as mentioned in the hadith of friend Jarir bin Abdillah, that the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said,
"Whoever revives the good Sunnah in Islam, followed by others afterwards, is recorded for him as rewarded as those who practice it, without diminishing their reward in the slightest. Whoever revives a bad tradition among the Muslims, then followed by others afterwards, then he gets the sin as the sins of those who do so without reducing their sins one bit. "
(Narrated Muslim 2398, Ahmad 19674, and others)
The work is Second Age
Dead tigers leave stripes, dead elephants leave ivory ... dead man leaves leave masterpiece.
There are several works of scholars who are widely accepted in society. Allah perpetuated their work even though their bodies were buried hundreds of years ago.
The book Bulughul Maram, written al-Hafidz Ibn Hajar. His work has survived to this day, even though he died in 852 H. He was 79 years old, while his work was in his 59s+.
Book of Riyadhus sholihin, written by an-Nawawi. His work is used by many people, even though he has died in 676 H. His physical age is only 45 years old, but his work to date is 765+ years old.
Subhan Allah…
Their work is much longer than their age ...
That's the second age ... they live with his work, even though his body has been buried in the ground ...
Therefore, the scholars understand that when they read the work of their predecessors, it is as if he were sitting with them.
Abdullah bin Mubarak once said,
I am sitting with my friends and tabi'een, by looking and reading their work and their book.
(Washaya wa Nashaih li Thalib al-Ilm, 55).
Begin to think about planning our second age. Building works that can benefit the people, when we are gone. We can develop according to each potential. Do not have to force yourself to be syech or dai.
So, pioneer goodness, or endless wakaf or any source of virtue that is long ... Our work is alive, even though the body is gone ...
Thus, Allahu a'lam.
Please help our dawah with share our post. and give us advise & suggestion. we really need it.
